A little bit about Avalis.........
The Eyjafjallajokull glacier lies high in the wilderness of southern Iceland where it began to form over 2,500 years ago.
It is here that our water begins its journey, having been laid down as snow before turning to ice then water. Frozen in time, the glacier slowly releases its hidden source of pristine untouched water. Brought down by the force of gravity, the still icy water travels towards the ocean through prehistoric lava rock, filtered to create a water that is naturally alkaline, low in total dissolved solids and arguably the purest in the world.
Our team collects just 1% of the water flowing naturally from glacier to ocean at our source at Mið-Mörk. The rest continues its journey to the ocean untouched, as part of the glacier's endless process of accumulation and regeneration.
The demand for alkaline water is increasing, with many health benefits being claimed for drinking water with a higher pH value. Unlike other waters, which are alkaline only due to having been treated and subjected to chemical processes, our water is unprocessed meaning it is naturally alkaline with a pH of ~ 8.3

Our founder visited Iceland with his family in 2015. Whilst he was there, he fell in love with the pristine and clean environment that is Iceland! His family found the glacier water to be a light composition that is crisp and refreshing which is effervescent and light on the palate. Iceland's environment is one of the cleanest and untouched lands of the world. He managed to find a unique source of glacier water which he discovered he could sustainably harvest from glacier to glass by gravity alone. This enabled us to bring one of the finest sources of water in the world to everyone. Some fun facts about the Icelandic culture!: Icelandic people believe in elves and fairies and it is a very important part of their culture! Some say that they found the water before us but now you can enjoy it too!. Where we harvest the water in the Vestman Islands in Iceland, is home to a breeding colony of puffins and they represent part of the image of our Avalis brand.
